I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in School of Computing at the University of South Alabama.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science in May 2007 from the University of South Carolina, under Dr. Michael N. Huhns. Prior to the appointment at USA, I was a Research Specialist in Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, & Epidemiology at the Medical University of South Carolina, and an Assistant Professor at Benedict College.

My research areas include machine intelligence, ontological techniques, semantics-enhanced data mining, and biomedical informatics, with more than 30 refereed publications, including two books (Ontology Matching Algorithms and Service Oriented Computing: Agents, Semantics, and Engineering), six journal papers, three book chapters, and one conference paper winning Runner-up for Best Student Paper Award.

I am a member of Sigma Xi, IEEE, and AAAI, and have served in the Program Committee for many international conferences, e.g., AAMAS, ODBASE, and CIT. I also served in the Review Board of Journal of Open Research on Information Systems, and was a reviewer for many journals, e.g., IEEE Internet Computing, World Wide Web Journal, and IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering.
