INFORMATION SYSTEMS EXIT EXAM

 

  • Co-Director of the Center for Computing Education Research (CCER), affiliated with the ICCP Education Foundation.  Continued work on developing and implementing the first-ever national IS Exit Assessment Exam based on the IS Model Curriculum.  The work includes:  developing software, databases, test item writing and review, administration of the exam to more as many as 1,000 students at more than 40 institutions across the United States. 
REVIEWING

·        I am a reviewer for the Journal of Information Technology Cases and Applications.

·        I have reviewed for Communications of the ACM, ICIS, AMCIS, ISECON and SAIS.

MASTER'S THESIS
  • I have mentored or co-mentored three master’s theses from 1999 to 2003.  One of these theses, completed by Timothy Ohrenberger, and titled "Examining the LinkageBetween Strategic Information Systems Planning and ResourceAllocation Decisions in Government Healthcare Organizations" was named University of South Alabama Thesis of the Year and School of CIS Thesis of the Year.

  • I have served or am serving on six master’s thesis committees.  I have already published with student and chair on four of these.

OTHER SERVICE ACTIVITIES
  • Faculty sponsor of the University of South Alabama’s Gamma Chapter of Alpha Iota Mu, an international honor society recognizing outstanding academic achievement in the field of information management.
