Welcome to Melissa Smith's Homepage.

 

I am currently employed as an instructor at the University of South Alabama in the School of Computer and Information Sciences. Along with my teaching responsibilities, I also oversee the School's Internship Program and act as our Recruiting Coordinator.

When I not working, I enjoy being with my family. I have been married to the same wonderful man for almost 30 years (yes, I was very young when we got married). David and I met while in college at Troy State University where we both studied Computer Science. We even worked on our graduate degrees together here at South until our first child was born. Then we had to take turns being in class. David still works in the industry, but my path has led me into the academic side of things. We have two daughters, Courtney and Rachel. Emily and Kenzie are the canine members of the family and Snowflake is our lone cat.
